The level of filtration we follow refers to garments that block particles up to 3 µm in size, which is larger than the size of the Covid-19 virus. The virus is transported in micro-droplets, of sizes much larger than that of the virus itself, this is why the mask ensures a relative capacity of retention, in addition to the barrier gestures. Based on the list of materials approved by authorities in EU countries for the development of Barrier Face masks, we consider that each one layer of our SR21 Model I (v.1) Barrier Face Mask offers: 90 % ≤protection < 95 %.

The SR21 Model I (v.1) Barrier Face Mask is intended for the public and in particular for any healthy or asymptomatic person.
The use of a barrier mask does not in any way exempt the user from the systematic application of barrier gestures, which are essential, as well as the rules of social distancing aimed at combating viral infections.

A reusable Barrier Mask must be machine washed with conventional detergent, at 60 degrees for at least 30 minutes. Drying must be carried out in the open air, before ironing with steam at a temperature which does not damage the fabric.

Our Model I Barrier Mask washing thresholds are high: 30 or more washes can be claimed. Our tests have shown that a much bigger number of washes is possible. In general, a barrier mask must at least be able to undergo 5 washes and dryings. It is a realistic minimum threshold, according to the experts gathered, for a mask made from non-professional fabrics. Beyond the fabric, it is the garment that can show signs of weakness most quickly. In all cases, each washed mask must be inspected by the user before being reused.

Yes, to remove any folds after washing and finalize the drying. Particular care must be taken not to damage the components of the mask, in particular the elastic straps. Please note that using an iron is not a substitute for washing as recommended by the health authorities.

Boiling your barrier mask to clean it can damage it.
This practice is not recommended: prefer machine washing at 60 degrees for at least 30 minutes.

This is an additional recommendation: washing beforehand is necessary if, during a previous cycle, you accidentally added a used mask with other clothes, when washing with a temperature below 60 ° C. If you wash all your masks according to the recommendations of the health authorities (60 ° C for at least 30 minutes), you do not need to perform a vacuum wash beforehand.
